Legal Fees
The Legal Costs Committee is an independent statutory authority established under the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2022 and is responsible for the review and setting of all legal costs scales in WA.

Hourly Rate
My hourly rate is currently set at $350.00 plus GST.
This rate will stand for the duration of your matter.
I require upfront payment of $350.00 plus GST prior to any appointment.
Estimated Rates
Each legal matter is different and the time required to assist each client is unique. I will provide an estimate of costs for your matter based on the available information. This estimate will be amended as and when required.
The estimates below are provided as a guide and should not be taken as a flat fee or a complete fee for the service. The estimates do not include disbursements.

A single court appearance requires me to take instructions from you and to attend the court and complete the appearance with you.
A general estimate of the minimum cost for this appearance is $750.00 plus GST.
This estimate will increase based on the complexity of your matter and the purpose of the appearance.

Where you instruct you wish to enter a plea of guilty and be sentenced, I would spend time discussing this with you and provide my assessment of this course of action.
I would require you to sign a written authorisation accepting my advice and the potential outcomes of this course of action.
A general estimate for this work is a minimum of $1000.00 plus GST.
This estimate will increase due to the complexity of your matter and the number of court appearances required.

A sentencing in the District Court is more complex and may require more than one appearance.
Where you instruct you wish to enter a plea of guilty and be sentenced, I would spend time discussing this with you and provide my assessment of this course of action.
I would require you to sign a written authorisation accepting my advice and the potential outcomes of this course of action.
I would prepare written submissions to the Court on your behalf.
A general estimate for this work is a minimum of $3000.00 plus GST.
This estimate will increase due to the complexity of your matter and the number of court appearances required.

The daily rate for a hearing or trial is only for the day of the hearing. It does not include prior meetings, court appearances, trial preparation or the engagement of experts or Senior Counsel.
A general estimate of a daily rate is $3,500 plus GST.
This estimate can increase due to the complexity of your matter.

An application can be prepared after you have been sentenced for the driving offence.
The estimate includes the Filing Fee of $255.00 as well as the preparation of the required Affidavit, other supporting documentation and the appearance at the hearing.
A general estimate for this work is a minimum of $2500.00 plus GST.
This estimate will increase due to the complexity of your matter and the number of court appearances required.
Grants of Legal Aid
Where you are eligible for a Grant of Legal Aid or wish to nominate me as your preferred lawyer for your matter, I am currently available for the following matters on a Grant of Legal Aid:
Crime – Magistrates Court and Other Indictable
Crime – Serious Indictable
Crime - Sexual Offences*
Crime - Children’s Court*
Restraining Order Panel
Civil Law Panel
*I advise I am subject to supervision by a senior practitioner for matters that are listed before the President of the Children's Court. There can be no additional cost to any client for these types of matters.
